Daily 49er: Week 2 in review
This whole week I was thrown off thanks to Labor Day on Monday. Tuesday felt like Monday, Wednesday like Monday, Thursday like Monday... hmmm, I sense a pattern here!

Daily 49er- Welcome Back Fall 2012
It's that time of year again, time to stock up on caffeine and say farewell to the outside world for a few months. I'm just pretty eager to get the ball rolling on my last semester of college!
For this assignment, I was tasked with creating a game board inspired design that tied back to CSULB. After playing around with a few ideas and designs, CSULB-opoly was a perfect fit, ripe with gags. The end result is probably my favorite cover design thus far!

CSU Summer Arts (Home Edition): Day 1
Figured what better day to start in on this project than my bday?
When I heard that my fellow animators would be going up to Monterrey Bay for a 2 week, labor intensive animation boot camp, I was pretty jealous. So, I figured that I may as well get in on the action (awwww yeahhhh!) and do my own take of the program! From what I understand and from what I've heard, the program involves designing a character around a pre-existing mask and using said character in a 30 sec short. That, as well as having everything 100% done within a 2 week time frame. To that I say CHALLENGE ACCEPTED!
My goal is to do said short traditionally and have a clean looking pencil test at the end of the run. I would use Toon Boom, but since I'm already using it extensively for another project, I figured I'd polish up on the basics.
Day 1 Recap:
Found a great looking mask from the Congo to base my character off of:
Also settled on the basic premise of the story and started doing thumbs. Tomorrow's goal: have a fianl-ish looking head and thumbs! Also, video ref would be dandy too. But for now, off to work.
